It began as a single thread, spun in Belgium in 1988. Today it runs through carpets woven at Moldova's first fully vertically integrated factory. This is that story.

Dominique Bruyneel starts Target Carpets in Belgium. A family fascination with textile becomes a profession — and the beginning of everything that follows.
Dominique and his partner Filip Dewaele build a new greenfield factory in Ungheni, Moldova: Euro Yarns, a producer of synthetic yarns. The foundation — literally — of what comes next.

The same team — enlarged with two Moldovan partners, Petru Babenco and Andrei Turcan — combines its experience for a second green-field project. Where others saw empty land, they saw looms.

In May 2020 Unicorn Carpets is founded; months later the first rolls come off the looms. A young company — carried by a lifetime of craft.
Solar panels on the roof, OEKO-TEX® certified production inside, and nine signature collections shipping across Europe. The best is yet to come.

Our focus lies in creating the best price-quality carpets. Unicorn Carpets is fully vertically integrated — producing our own yarns and controlling every step from extrusion to twisting to thermofixation — which means every carpet is built on a foundation we control end to end. That control is what lets our clients get exceptional price-quality carpets.
Granulate becomes yarn in the Euro Yarns extrusion lines.
Yarns are twisted for strength, body and texture.
Heat sets the twist — the secret of a resilient pile.
Our looms in Ungheni weave the nine signature lines.
Shearing, backing, binding and inspection — by hand and eye.
